• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. Hey everyone! So a while back I posted my Kitbash Mod Revamp on A2FF and have had a few people who said they didn't understand the instructions included with the mod. I'm trying to figure out how to help this one particular person install this mod but I'm not sure how to go about doing so, as I felt the instructions I included were pretty clear. I also know that there are some people who aren't skilled with using basic file operations, and I'm not sure how to help them with installing this mod. Anyone got any advice?

I just reread the instructions you have over at FF and I really can't think how you could make it any more clear? We've worked with this stuff for so long it's second nature and takes mere minutes. Cutting and pasting text should be the most basic ability so beyond that, perhaps this person just lacks the confidence to try it?

I don't know how close you are working with them, but if you can walk them through a test to open an odf file in notepad or notepad++ then have them practice clicking at the end of some line, hit enter then cut text from another file and paste it to the test file? Perhaps they just need to be visually shown that it is pretty simple and what they need to look for?

I pointed them toward Westworld's BBOM and also suggested they practice by trying to install some of my single-ship mods. Haven't heard back from him, so I hope it worked for him
