These are very good! I always like to see vids done by others because it always gives me new ideas and encourages me to make my own better. Perhaps somewhere down the road we could do something together? I think I'd like that. Oh, yeah before I forget. Welcome to MSFC! The people are really nice. The mods are really cool. The Forums are refreshingly forthright. the topics withing these are always interesting and informative.

I really like your work. The first one does look pretty starship troopers like, is it your design?
I do wonder where you did get the references for the roger young from?

Thanks mate, :D While my mod contains several custom designs that follow the theme set by SST, all of the ship designs in that video clip are based on canon ships to some extent. More like idealized versions. The 1st is based on the Valley Forge from the CGI TV series "Starship Troopers Roughneck Chronicles". The second is based on the Athena seen at the very end of the 1st movie and the Shiloh from the 3rd movie. The Rodger Young design is from the 1st & 3rd movie as well.

The Valley Forge is the one with a shroud like structure around the engines. The Shiloh is the one with the upper and lower superstructure.
The Rodger Young is the longer of the two, of course.

These represent hero ships vs a base ship that they originate from. I wanted distinct variances though, so I made ships that had elements of the "Heroes" but were different. You can only build one of the heroes each but multiple of the base ship.

I based the Valley Forge on over 30 really bad screen grabs from the TV series. It's not exact but I think it captures it pretty decently.

The Athena/Shiloh on images found online, which isn't a whole lot.

The Rodger Young is based on images of the actual filming model and resin model kits that are available. That ship is not a streamlined ship and it has a whole lot of nooks and crannies. I did as much detail as I could without making it too high poly to use in game.

Point is, that i wanted to model the roger young too, but then i gave up because of a lack of references, like blueprints.
Therefore im pretty impressed of your canon looking ship.

Thanks! If you go to Flickr and do a search for Jay Aden and look at his collections, you'll find 2 pages of pics of the filming models of the Rodger Young, the TAC fighter, & Ticonderoga Station, etc.

The above and images of the model kits you can buy are the references I went by. Looking at the actual models you'll see a whole bunch of inaccuracies with mine, although I still think I captured the essence of her and kept it playable.

Cheers,

Rebelmoon

Very nice work I love SST, and recently I have been considering doing some low poly modelling of some of the designs myself.

I look forward to more. :)

Thanks I might do that. I really like some of your designs, very Starship Troopers feel to them which is great to see as many fan design are well they don't keep true to the show they are designed for.
