• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

    Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

    We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

The Immobilizer 418 cruiser is a 600 meter long cruiser built on the standard Vindicator-class heavy cruiser hull. Equipped with gravity well projectors designed to pull ships from hyperspace and/or prevent them making the jump to lightspeed, the Immobilizer became a valuable addition to the Imperial Navy.

Immobilizer cruisers, like their Vindicator class cousins, had the appearance of small Star Destroyers. However, their lines were broken by four large globes housing gravity well projectors. The gravity wells mimicked a large mass in space and thus restricted hyperspace travel. Nearby vessels were automatically prevented from engaging their hyperdrive, and any ships passing through the area via hyperspace were forced into real space.

Ah, the Interdictor(with the pleasant addition of its spaceframe cousin)! The dread of fighter squadrons and freighter convoys everywhere! You did a great job on building this one man, especially on the bridge tower. It looks just right. I've seen a lot of versions that just slap the gravity wells onto an ImpStar without any other modification. Fantastic job doing this one!

Thanks Zelph, there is a Interdictor version which uses an Imperial Star Destroyer base, however the original design was this one and I am more a fan of smaller ships than big ones so I felt that it wasn't needed. While gravity wells are pretty useless in FO I though it could be a weapon that drains special energy or something. I haven't looked into code to see if that is possible though.

Thanks the Vindicator was a last minute addition, I just removed the gravity wells and moved the hardpoints into the main hull.
