I played through the tutorial missions for the TOS "faction" on tribble. There are some pleasing screenshots.

That actually looks pretty neat! I almost feel like going back and giving STO a try again (except I really don't have the time )

The down side to the TOS "faction" is that after the starting missions and hitting level 10, you pretty much join the other fed players.

Not surprised there SFF. I suppose it's only worth playing to level 10.

still looking forward to it. hoping they overhaul the textures though, they all look a bit flat - like something out of A1 pre modding....

I believe that may be intentional. Like they are mimicking the original look of the show. The closer I looked at the textures, the more I seen the added film grain. Could be wrong but, I would not hold on to too much hope.

I don't know - the Fed ship texture doesn't look right either when compared with the current TOS Connie in game. And I don't like that KDF ship - looks like a re-skinned Negh'var with a new front section.

It does doesn't it. There are so many TOS Klingon designs those could use that look good.

It's kinda lazy. But then, maybe it's a placeholder on tribble. I doubt it but I can hope!

Here is my newest screenshot from STO. The new lighting features on the game really makes a difference. One of these days I will post a pic with the old and new lighting so those that don't play or haven't played in some time to see. This is also my new desktop image.

I caved in and decided to spend some of my zen in the sales.
5x Fleet Modules, which I used to update my Delta's Battlecruiser as she'll be sticking with that ship.
Hestia class as my Engineer just doesn't get on with the Battlecruiser. With the Mirror Prometheus and the Defiant my Engineer worked quite well, as he held it together while relying on the BOffs to put out the damage.
I bought it on my Delta and went out for a quick spin - shredding everything in my path (but my Delta does have quite a well optimised phaser build).
The Hestia comes with quite a lot of options. However, I don't like most of them, so it's almost full Hestia except the upper hal of the secondary hull which is classic Prometheus (I didn't like the Hestia shuttlebay). I like the paint scheme, however I think the aztecing is a little over done, I think it should be cleaner with the white hull. Also the paint scheme settings didnt seem to do much on the Material 7 (default Hestia as shown).
Anyway, pretty pictures of the USS Falcon.

@kjc733, the Hestia is one of my favorite ships, which is saying something because it's one of the oldest T6's if I remember right? Anyway, I use it on one of my oldest characters, it's not really geared up to par, but it's still a fantastic ship to fly, and the trait is definitely worth it.

I took these a while back, prepare thine computers for some really nice ship afts! (Actual number of afts might not be nearly as numerous as I'm leading you to believe)

No kidding they're big - my laptop locks up after the first image.
I like the Hestia because it's flexible. 3x Sci and 3x Eng consoles allows me to go either way. Also the BOffs are reasonably equal, its agile (but not as much as a Defiant) and isn't so much of a glass cannon. It's an all rounder. It's why I like the Vesta variants as well, the ability to mix and match how I want with the universal seating. About the only thing that lets it down is the Command seating, but as I've not yet used the specialisations I don't particularly miss it.

Here is a screenshot of the last mission in the Jem'Hadar arc. This is by far the most beautiful map in the game in my honest opinion.

Wait for sales, for one, two, buy some of the R&D packs, try to get yourself a big ole T6 Promo ship, and if you don't actually want any of the options you are presented with if you get a ship pack, then just sell it and buy ships you *do* want. Third, wait for sales.

Yeah I was planning on waiting on a sale then maybe getting the bug Dominion pack. :)

That would be a very good choice, the ships are fantastic in general, and their Vanguard ability, make them pretty potent. The fact that they have an Account unlock as a 6th Level of Mastery is also kind of cool.

Also get some fleet modules in the sales. That way you can upgrade once you've maxed out the C store ship, and sell the remainder of the modules on the exchange for EC in case you see a box ship you like.

Alternative suggestion, Fleet Ship Modules don't sell particularly profitably (in my experience) because you can get them from multiple sources other than just the C-Store, if you want to get EC, do the R&D packs. You can earn Fleet Ship Modules for each Reputation you take to Tier 6, and then spend I think 100 marks to get the module in the same way you'd get a reputation set weapon or things like that. You can get one Module per rep, so like 11 per character essentially for free.

It's a very recent thing, came along with the addition of the 6th tier of reps, along with the other Age of Discovery content that they released in October?

Yeah I haven't done a Dominion character yet.
Just started playing a TOS character with my son just for fun. Over the next few months I have 2 years worth of new missions to play, including on my Klingon characters so going to take a while. Plenty of time to wait for a sale before starting a Dominion character. :)
