• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

Hey,
I modeled the Nagasaki Class in relation to the Beowolf and Galaxy. I decided that the Beowolf is 3/4 of the Defiant with 120 meters. I do a mistake, I use the Fleet Charts of ex-astris-scientia. But the Defiant is 170 meters, so is the Beowolf smaller, 1/2 of the Defiant.

Hmm, ok. And how the models should correlate with each other? Does it mean that the Nagasaki model should be corrected or it's not critical?

Another ship for defense line: The K'T'Orr Class

Because of the Nacelles I modeled the K'Tinga too:

Critically damaged Akira. By the way, we decided to remove recourse limits.

Ladies and Gentlemen!
We haven't updated info about our project for a while, but now we have something interesting to show you. We recorded a video in which you can see a testing battle with our new explosions effects, new physics for ships and torpedoes. Along with regular starships, you can see three hero vessels. They are U.S.S.BABYLON (designed by Arsen Bagdasarov - u.s.s.sovereign; model by TUB_Husker), U.S.S.NAGASAKI (designed by Arthur Bagdasarov - u.s.s.defiant, model by TUB_Husker), and assimilated U.S.S.REVOLUTION (designed and modeled by dvatreknerd314, who created Evolution class model. The textures of assimilated U.S.S.REVOLUTION by Arthur Bagdasarov). In this battle the Federation and the Borg will meet in fight in a pulsar star system. In our previous video the Collective was represented by a single cube. In this video you can see the whole Borg fleet.
Background: Federation fleet faced the Borg in a pulsar star-system. The Borg flagship Destroyer-Cube (a special vessel class) creates an omega-molecular distortion that destroys subspace preventing all Starfleet vessels to warp out of the system and escape. The Federation fleet has nothing to do but to fight the Borg.

Music:
- Call of Duty - Stalingrad boat ride
- Call of Duty - Red square Charge
- Starship Troopers - Main Theme

Hey looks fine. But can you reduce the specular on the ships, I think is to much, the Textures are overshoot.

I like that the ships aren't banking when turning and I like the persistent debris that collides with stuff. What I didn't like was how shiny the Borg ships are (I would think it would go in the other direction, being very non-reflective) and the particles orbiting the pulsar were a bit distracting

Yes, we know about specular. We will work on it. Thank you)

About shining ships - we'll solve the issue. Particles around the pulsar were made so fast intentionally, but we'll think of it. Thank you.

The problem for me was they looked too much like the stars in the background, and if you zoomed out enough, the ships could blend in with both (this problem also existed in A1, which is part of why I don't like the larger star background)

For some time, both projects exchange ideas and material. Now I've decided to do the Collaboration with 100 Percent of my Material.
USS. Sovereign make some nice Concepts, which I modeled and textured.
The Babylon Class, Nagasaki, for example. He draw for me some nice Planet Textures.
The Project Star Trek Defence Line I find very interesting. Most modders modify only existing games, but a new game to build on an engine is pretty cool.
So I have decide that I exchange all of my Material with the Star Trek Defece Line Team.
The first package of this Excance include some canon Federation Ships.

Thank you very much for the trust. I believe our both projects will play their role in the development of trekkies gaming.
We're ready to get the first package, when you send it to us. By the way, did you find our Klingon models useful for you?

Ships engines recreating caused such strange views. It'll be solved. We hope, this engines system will be better than the previous one. It has advantages because of working with physics. With the new system starships move using physical engines that will allow us to create manoeuvres later.

some gameplay suggestions..

1.I know in real life space is "dark" but can you enlighten ambient..it's hard to see ships and stations..
2. you could also add dominion as playable race, i'd be shame to exclude one of most powerful factions in star drek...
3. maybe add various minor species as "outlaws" e.g. sona, ferengi, breen, kazon..you could hire them as your allies to help you destroy your enemies but you are not allowed to destroy their outposts
4. please, correct that logo... defense instead of defence, or maybe rename game star trek armada chronicles..or something like that
5. I think this game when is finished wont take too much pc resources, so you could add up to 12-16 players map
6. i really hope that diplomacy will be better than in original a1/a2

1. I will create a global light control system, and you will be able to set your own lighting settings.
2. The Dominion doesn't appear in the campaigns mode, so I'll add it as the last addition.
3. Minor species will not have stations - only ships.
4. You can write both "Defenсe" and "Defense". Both variants are correct.
5. I think 12-16 players are too much. There will be 8 players in total. Maybe if I make bigger maps, I'll add 12-16 players.
6. Will see...

Good to see you making progress. While the lighting in the youtube video seems a bit wonky, it's nice to seem the game in action.
