I'm enjoying myself on the XB1 version. Currently flying a T6 Intel Escort. Nice and maneuverable, although it lacks some of the punch that I'd prefer. We'll see what I end up deciding on next.

Anyone else on that system? If so, we're a bit small for a fleet, but the Trekyards one could use a few more members. We're still at a Tier 0 on everything.

I'm torn. I don't see a huge advantage to the T6 Vesta over the T5U... but on the other hand I want a new nacelle and deflector. However, I think they made a mistake in making them so blocky, the whole point of the Vesta is sleek flowing lines.
Anyway, stats, some design notes, and a youtube video.

EDIT - 20% Ship Sale now on. The new Multi-Mission ships are not part of the sale.

I love the Gorn designs personally. If this laptop could run the game I would be in there buying them now.

There is currently a 20% ship sale going on this weekend. Time for me to decide between that long overdue Vulcan science ship, Temporal Battlecruiser, or wait til I have enough for the new Romulan science ships.

Is that PC only?

I've been going through today and re-equipping all my old lower tier ships with higher mark equipment. Worth it? Or should I just get better ships?

I know it is PC but not sure about console. As far equiping lower tier ships with better gear, it is worth it if you are waiting and saving for a particular ship. Several of my characters are using T5/T5U ships. Another plus for upgrading the gear first is that when you get a better ship, you already have the gear.

Yeah, I'm hovering around Mark X to Mark XIV for most of stuff currently.

As for the ships...yeah, I've only got the one Tier 5 (Prometheus) and one Tier 6 (Intel Escort). The rest are just a few Tier 3s and one Tier 4.

Trying to decide what I'll do in the future shipwise. The Trekyards Console Fleet is still Tier 0 on everything, there's only about eleven of us. So it'll be a while before we have anything decent in that regard.

And I finally upped some gear to Mk XIV as it's an upgrade weekend. Should give me a big firepower increase.
I also checked out the new T6 Vestas using my T5 in the ship tailor... sadly I wasn't impressed :(

The T6s all have stubby hulls and the nacelles, whilst long and wide, are not very tall. As a result using T6 ships with T5 hulls doesn't work brilliantly. T6 mixing with T6 works ok though. Also the sensor platform on the science variant is part of the hull, so if you go science you're stuck with that platform. It's a shame, I was really hoping for some nice nacelles to flesh out my Vesta. Looks like I'll be saving my zen for... something else.

I decided to go ahead and get the Vulcan science ship as I have been wanting it for a long time now. It also comes with a Vulcan shuttle. I went to claim the shuttle only to find the ship requisitions is missing ALL of the shuttles. If I had known there was a bug with getting shuttles, I would have either went with the TOS battlecruiser or, just kept my Zen.

Ok, so perhaps I need to reassess, I had been adding the stubby T6 hulls to my existing Vesta/Aventine build and it just looked wrong. But this video shows some really nice look designs if you use the old secondary hulls. Just a shame the deflectors aren't a separate module.
Won't be buying them at full price anyway, so time to think it over.

There are some combat balancing coming to STO. They are starting with ground abilities then moving into the space.

It's fun with any opponent, been using it on my AoY character.
But even just the Upgrade token is pretty good value and I'll probably get some just for that.

I find it frustrating that the jaw horns used on the Povini (green aliens in Signs and Portents) still aren't available in the tailor.

STO has an event going with the Breach queue. I started it on a couple of my characters and started collecting the even currency on others. You get a nice chunk of dilithium and choice of marks after completing. You also get a new Voth melee weapon. Just realized though that I will be out of town on vacation for a week in middle of the event and so will not be able to finish it on any character.

I think they all look pretty sweet. Shame both my Caitian and Ferasan are science officers. I do have a Reman tac so that warbird would come in very handy.

About time some of the other KDF species got a ship. Hopefully they will continue this and give the Letheans a ship as well.

Does anyone know if someone's made a ship size comparison chart for more recent vessels like the pilot bundle and the command cruisers?

To be fair, they're basing these on studio models that appeared in TNG, and they seem to be staying as true to their in-series form as possible.
