Ok maybe it's a bit similar to the "Favourite Character or Group" but which race do you like best?

There is a lot to choose from, believe me, I'm trying to catalogue them all.

My favourites have gotta be the Pak'ma'ra. They're so different it's quite funny and interesting.
Or the Kirishiac (one of the First Ones). (Non-Canonly) they have a sarcastic/caustic sense of humour and like to be called "Lord". Sounds like me.

I like the Narn, they got their butt kicked but kept on going on and finally got their pay back in Season 5.

I also like the Drazi, alot of people in our society are like them, sad to say.

The Minbari due to their morals, they also showed that no matter how organized and structured a society is, take the top level away and the rest will crumple (Minbari Civil War).

Well first i would have to go with the Shadows. My all time favorites. Second would be the Minbari. And Third would be the Vorlons. Those three races just kick major butt.

I think the Obvious awnser would be the Earth Alliance.

but i will make an atempt to pick another...

Huh... this is a hard choice...

i'm going to have to say... the Vorlons. because Kosh is awsome! and mysterious. and sometimes down right creepy!

Kosh is awesome, everything he says and does is just perfect for his "style".

Hmm, two years ago I said Pak'ma'ra were my favourite... Now, I think my opinion may have changed to be either the Minbari (the Sharlin being the most graceful piece of devastating power in the show) or the Vorlons. They just rock =D

Well, the Walker of Sigma 957 will always have a place in my heart. (Zog.) However, I simply must go with the humans; what other faction could have produced Susan Ivanova?

Ooh thats a toughy. I really favor the Narn, Centauri, and the Minbari. The Centauri are the most entertaining with all the drunkeness and debauchery. The Narns with their "life sucks" attitude. The Minbari with their depressing diatribes but killer ships. I always found myself rooting for the Centauri even though they werent the nicest of guys.

I guess I'll have to go with a double helping of spoo (well aged of course. Only the Narns like that stuff fresh).

Always loved the Earth Force. I love their starships and fighters and I really liked the look of their uniforms. I hated they were put into the role of cliche bad guys, heroes always have to be portrayed as the unerdog freedom fighters , but they have always been my favorite race.

I also really liked the fact that they were actual military, unlike all that merged scientist/explorer garbage of TNG+ eras. The EA had actual warships like a real naval fleet not a bunch of pseudo-civilian exploration cruisers that are armed. I guess this is why TMP era has also been my favorite and balances nicely as a counterpart to B5's universe for me.

Aside from the EA, I also like the Narns and the Minbari to a lesser degree. And the Shadows were about the coolest enemy I've seen in sci-fi as of yet.

Favourite Race ?

Humans of course.
Their homeworld is Earth, from which the interstellar Earth Alliance is governed. Humans are considered one of the younger races in the galaxy, but their government, the Earth Alliance, is currently a Galactic Superpower.

I like the Earth Alliance battleships, because they look like a real fleet.
With technology purchased from the Centauri, the Alliance was able to technologically advance hundreds of years in just a few decades. Humans began establishing footholds in other star systems.

And the Narn! Which is bascially... Centauri tech. ;)

It's funny, only a few species in B5 really seem to make advancements of their own. Minbari, Centauri and the older races. Maybe it is, because it does take a lot of time to develope really groundbraking ways of travelling in space, providing artificial gravity etc.

Even the Minbari were "guided" by the Vorlons to some degree.

One of the biggest story points in Babylon 5 is that it is the beginning of humanity's "third age". The second age is when you are dominated and guided by elder races (Vorlons, Shadows, Lorien), and you only become a 3rd-age race when you finally denounce that guidance and make your own path. ("Now get the Hell out of our galaxy!")

I would point out, though, that Humanity never developed its own "artificial gravity". It developed the principles of using centrifugal force to SIMULATE gravity, but true artificial gravity technology was gifted from the Minbari in 2262.

Yes. I like the Omega class destroyer. It's my favorite battleship. It uses centrifugal force to simulate gravity using a rotating section to simulate normal Earth gravity. Right ? It's possible that in the future, our real spaceships could use some rotating section to fly to Mars or to the Alpha Centauri sometime in the future, 50 - 100 years from now.

Hey fellas, newbie here.

B5 was one of my favorite Sci-Fi, if not my favorite of all time. As to which race is my personal fave, that's a real toughie.

If I'm going for the cool factor alone, then that would have to go to the Vorlons. Still remember the first time Kosh left his encounter suit to rescue Sheridan, just wow.

In terms of technology and military organization, the Earth Alliance always has a fond place in my heart. I loved the EA uniform, the Starfury was a dream come true for this fighter pilot dreamer and all the ships from the clunky Hyperion to the sleek Warlock are some of my favorite designs in any space opera.

I like the Narn because of their feisty nature and their ships, also the Vorlons , mainly for their ship designs
