Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.
Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.
We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.
Any Question Hmm? Who is this secret race then?Do feel free to ask anything you want, while we may not be focusing 100% on this anymore we are still happy to answer any and all questions one might have.
Thank You very much for this.*I will see about doing a tiny weany update in the update thread today just so you can all see some new content.
So, between authoring my first novel, I'll be finishing up the Yesteryears models during these next 3 months.
Any Question Hmm? Who is this secret race then?
Thank You very much for this.
Novel? Dare I ask just what it's about, or would that be too much to ask?
Also, in an attempt to stay on topic, I'll ask about more written stuff: do you or Majestic have any, well, fan-stories for Yesteryears?
*Yes, yes, you can tell I'm reaching here, but bear with me!*
Well, thank you for the interest. It is off topic, so in short, I am not releasing any details at this time other than it is a science fiction theme.
As for YY fanfic, nothing currently we can talk about. Things like that are still up in the air.
Well we are (the 2A-A2 team, makers of Yesteryears) are please that you understand our stance, and stand with us. Thank you.
Now, Red Ash is not a mod, but a new set of games set in a new and original "science-fiction" universe. It's still in the early development stage, with an Alpha test version a long ways away. If you like Star Wars, Star Trek, or Stargate, then this may be something you find interesting. Oh, and one of the goals with the RTS Red Ash game(s), is to continue what Activision and/or Maddoc (makers of ST:Armada and ST:A2) started, is to offer a new moddable RTS game. And the Makers of Yesteryears are two of the key people behind it. There are bothe FPS and RTS games planned in Red Ash (aka: RA). So if you like Armada, you may also want to keep up on RA.
Now, since you know that YY is not dead, I hope to see you looking around for the next update release.
Which is proof that "long distance" friendships can develop. We are much the like minded kind of guys and have stood by each other through troubling times and have built a better friendship than most people get in person. We've been working on mods together now for as long as our friendship is. But those have mutated into Yesteryears and Federations: Rift War since.
Yes, we are doing a lot of things together as friends usually do... We are running an "International Internet Online Community" (AKA: MSFC, with the help of our friends, the staff members). We are finishing our ST:A2 Mods we started, Moving on to developing new games and software, and also are involved in online RPGs (Role-Playing Games), and FanFic stories (Well, Maj. is writing them, I am the editor per say).
As for RA, all I will say, is that if you like Armada, I think you'll like RA.
An Alpha test version of a software is an "internal" first run of the program, way before public release. FPS and RTS are as you thought.
We are glad to have you on the list of people that should get a copy of Yesteryears along with all our other supporting members.
