OK! I saw a little place here for 3d and I figured I'd show off some stuff here!
So one of my hobbies is 3d design. I'm good with blender, sketchup, and sculptris. About a few months ago I began experimenting with UV and have done a series of different starships, starting with the Texas Class.

This ship is my personal take on the Texas Class OCL from Starfleet Battles and is my very first starship.
Upon completion she was then imported into Star Trek Bridge Commander and was rendered by Jetfreak (Thanks bud!)
(Jet's Render)

My second ship I've created was a Klingon ship: A redesign of the L-13 Fatman

(The next pic shows WickedZombie's D7. Used for scaling purposes)

What got me confused with this beast is the style of the ship. I figured I'd give it a hybrid feel of TOS/TMP era. Also in Bridge Commander, this monster of a Battleship, despite the menacing redesign, is sadly still a bit of a lemon to handle, essentially a bulked D7 with a carrier bay and more guns at the cost of speed and large size.

UR-QUAN DREADNOUGHT WIP w. Fighter! (Connie by Gmunoz used for scale purposes)

This is only a taste of what I can create! Atm I am a part of a game dev team for a mecha game too and I have a Deviantart for some of my other artworks :).

I've done ships, Ive done mecha, I've done organic designs from people to animals to Kaiju and my wish is to aim higher in hopes of a professional 3d designer, maybe even learn backgrounds too :D

I am uncertain if this counts as a double-post, but I've been working on this ship on and off for a long while now!
ARES CLASS WIP. Made in Blender 3D, as accurate to scale as I can. Now I'm wondering whether I should go Axanar style or full blown TOS style hull. (Constitution class by Gmunoz and used for scaling only)

Double posts are just fine so long as it's been long enough that you can't edit the previous post anymore. Or if you manage to hit the character limit.

Ahhh ok :) Btw you like what I've made so far? I'm not sure how to mod Armada to made ships for it, but I can gladly give out the models for release, esp. in .Nif or .3ds format

I do like it.:)You can post the raw models if you want to. Some of the folks around here even do conversions for use in Armada. Fair warning, if your stuff gets converted it will probably lose some detail since the engine can't handle more than a certain number of polys per model or polys on screen without drastically dropping speed. FO made some improvements to the renderer, but both values are still pretty low. I'm not a modeler, just a hardpointer, but I think the current target number of polys for a mid-to-large size ship in FO is 10,000.

Well, in any case if it's decided I can go post then either in .3ds or .obj. Either one would work well :).
Atm despite being sick, I'm lost on how to do the warp nacelles for the Ares. Axanar style or TOS..

That is a very good start, I look forward to seeing the finished product.
You may wish to shrink it down slightly, the Ares saucer is actually a little smaller than the Connie.

When I did Ares I made the aft end of the nacelle hollow by extruding a core inwards. I then curved the polygons of the wall around in a cowling and put a ball in the middle.

Aad Moerman! Wow It's an honor to be recognized by you. You've done amazing starship concepts bud, even that TOS Discovery was incredible (Trekyards youtube). Times like this I wish I had a mesh like that beauty!

Welp here comes a double post!
Finally after a week of the lazies and work, My Ares class is complete!
I took some liberties to make it more fitting for the timeline but otherwise she's ready for last minute tweaks and UV map :D
(Constitution by Gmunoz, used for ship scale purposes only)

Excellent work, the Ares looks to perfectly fit the TOS timeline and is a perfect companion to the Connie.

She's a beauty Rel, definitely fits the pre-TOS aesthetic, better than anything seen on STD anyway. :p

I've always thought those phaser emitters looked TMP-ish for the timeline but outside of that, I can see this version of the ship alongside the classic Connie. Congratulations on excellent work!

The basic TOS aesthetics suit the Ares surprisingly well - I'm surprised that the Axanar people didn't try it given how little they changed the Connie.

I like the kill markings, it's a nice touch

It was alright. I chatted with a few folks back at Fleetyards (and the Axanar's designer via FB). so far it's good but the killmark has to go. if it were a fighter type it would have been okish.
Now that all the final touchups are done and overwith and glowmaps are made, the Ares Class is ready to fly :D.

so far it's good but the killmark has to go.
It's not regulation and Starfleet wouldn't approve, but I can see some captains doing it anyway.

"Hunted". Texas FOCL and Ares FDW after a fierce battle. The Ares took a hell of a beating and was almost adrift. On the plus side she blows up beautifully :D
