Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.
Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.
We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.
I am really hoping it turns out that those aren't the Klingons. Not holding my breath though. Not liking the Klingons. Looks good otherwise, though.
I think they are. And I think they made way too much of an effort to make them all look like KrallI am really hoping it turns out that those aren't the Klingons. Not holding my breath though.
They're definitely the Klingons. I feel they look too Reman, or too much like the Klingon from Into Darkness, but with the makeup done on a much smaller budget. Also, I was fine with that guy not having hair to make him distinct (some humans shave their heads, after all), but Klingons in general should have a lot of hair, or at least some facial hair like they've had since TOS.I am really hoping it turns out that those aren't the Klingons. Not holding my breath though.
I had the same thought in reference to KrallI think they are. And I think they made way too much of an effort to make them all look like Krall
I'm not sure how much in the way of spoilers we're allowed to put in this thread. Can an admin help me out here?what does everyone think of the latest episode of Discovery?
Just spoiler tag it if you're not sure. Here's another post I have where I outline how to do that two different ways.I'm not sure how much in the way of spoilers we're allowed to put in this thread. Can an admin help me out here?
what does everyone think of the latest episode of Discovery?
I watched it and tbh this fits much better than the first episodes, esp. with the Mirror Universe involved. I actually liked the redesign on the Constitution class, it was slightly altered yet still kept the original shape and feel, considering the D7 was redesigned so damn much that it looks like a Xindi worship.
What does everyone think of the Discovery Mirror universe arc thats being unfolded these last two weeks ?
What do we think of the Andorians and Tellarites?
Also, the Discovery somehow has roughly 135 crew members when the Constitution-class has 205 (The Cage) to 430 (TOS) depending on despite being that much bigger? Is it operating with a skeleton crew?
Saru mentions having 135 people on board, not counting himself, so it's just the Discovery. It could be that the ship is operating with a reduced compliment due to the war, but it clearly has a lot more volume than the Constitution class, which is only known to go down to about 200. As another example, the NX-01, from the leading edge of the saucer to the trailing edge of the nacelles, is about as long as the Crossfield-class' saucer and operates with 83 people. As such, Discovery is several orders of magnitude larger, but doesn't even operate with twice as many people. And it's not like the quarters are huge like on the Galaxy-class since Burnham and Tilly's quarters are apparently both standard and tiny.Is that number for the Crossfield in general or just the Discovery? I ask in case non-essential personnel were removed since the spore drive is likely classified.
You also have to remember that a good deal of Discovery consists of science labs, more than I'd expect for the NX01 and the connie. It's possible that could somehow also contribute to the lower crew-to-volume ratioSaru mentions having 135 people on board, not counting himself, so it's just the Discovery. Well, lets see: Top secret starship that technically does not exist on paper on any starfleet ship, top secret scientific discoveries made for every form of research, including travel, skeleton crew based, black hull starship, black badged security, Honestly Crossfield class starships may very well fall under Section 31 territory, hell the NCC number is 1031. We might actually see Section 31 be made here BECAUSE OF THIS SHIP.
So the official lengths for the Discovery and Shenzhou were released and they're huge for the era.
