• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

You know when it takes you four queues of people launching without you to realize you don't understand the new PvE interface?

Not played for a while, but yes. I found it especially irritating during Tour the Galaxy when it will sometimes take me in completely the wrong direction when moving on to the next leg.

When they created the new sector space maps, they moved a few of the systems to put them in relatively more accurate places. Problem is, they seem to have forgotten to update the coding for the auto navigation. Best thing to do is to open the map and select the system to navigate to.

That's exactly what I'm doing. The problem is sometimes the ships will accelerate but won't turn.

When I do Tour the Galaxy I find that if I wait until I have reach the end of a leg and then select a new destination, the ship will head off in a random direction.
If I select the new destination before entering the star system then it generally goes where it is supposed to go. Of course, that means that I sometimes miss the end of the leg and have to double back to catch the waypoint...

So try navigating from deep space instead of from a star system. It may make a difference.

Is the Nimbus III transporter system new or did I just miss it this entire time?

It's been around for a few months at least, but I'm sure it wasn't there the first time I did Nimbus.

So I just got to the temporal operative or whatever part of Nimbus where you view the interaction between the Nakuhl and Hassan the Undying, and I love the little detail of Hassan calling the Nakuhl woman a Reman, primarily because when the season 3 ending of Enterprise was aired, a lot of people mistook the Nakuhl as a Reman.

Does anyone know which armor gives you scary yellow bug-like eyes for the helmet?

It's a rehash of a cannon ship .
So I view it as < Not really STO >... So is the better of the three ;)

Lock box looks interesting not bad. Better than many of the previous ones.
I also like the look of that Klingon ship. Still don't have a laptop with enough grunt to play the game so I'll admire that ship from afar and wait another few years until I get a decent pc to play it. At least I'll have plenty of zen to buy new ships and enough new missions to sink my teeth into. :)

I looked through this thread today and see that i have missed many things, the last year i didn't play this, for me it seems its time to go back in. The new light cruiser designs are a good idea but i only like the Romulan design, the Reliant class is an uninspired revamp of the classic Miranda and the Klingon ship is imho but ugly design even for Klingon ships.

Sadly I'm sort of in the same position as Maj. I suspect the new graphics helped push my laptop too far so I'm limiting my STOing to quick stints of Admiralty and DOffing. I've got over 6k zen but I don't really see anything I want to spend it on.
The new Romulan whitestar doesn't look that good from the side, it's not sleek enough. And besides, my Rommie has a T6 Valdore (which I forget the name of) and a Faeht, neither of which are properly fitted out.
The Klingon light battleship looks nice, but I'm still trying to outfit my T6 Mogh.
I'm considering the tactical T6 Vesta, but that's purely so I can get the smaller hull to pretty up my Vesta ships. I have an Arbiter for my Tac Delta. I'd like to want the Miranda, but I've never really been much of a fan even if the skin is gorgeous. I might use it for my AoY character but he's Sci and I'm not sure it'd be a good fit. Now if they let us have a Connie with that skin I'd even spend the 6k on one ship, but I wont gamble for it. Which leaves me looking at getting a Konnie of the exchange, which I'd probably regret as whilst the design has grown on me, from some angles I still think it ugly as sin.
Might get a T6 Hestia... but for now as I can't play with the ships anyway I may as well hold on to the zen.

Somehow I find that it looks like half the other ships in the game already.

At the rate they've been releasing ships lately, I'd say there's the distinct possibility that their concept artists are being worked too hard.

Oh that Connie refit looks beautiful! And it would match my character so well, since he wears a TMP uniform! I currently have that 24th century Connie, which is ok, but I want to get back to classics.

I hope the Connie refit fires its weapons like the movies, want to see some WoK style action in my game. The Miranda and Soyuz look wicked good also.

The Connie Refit visuals should be replacing the existing Tier 2 stock Connie Refit, so anyone can use it, but it won't be very good at end-game.
Cryptic recently released a TMP lock box which included the pulse style TWOK phaser. It's supposed to look good but the noise is a bit wrong. I can't remember what they are called but you should be able to find them on the exchange. Whilst they have pulse in the name they are beam weapons.
