There are precisely two canon slipstream vessels in Trek, and several semi-canon. Those are the Dauntless (which is most decidedly organic), the Voyager (which couldn't sustain it very long without damage). On the semi-canon front we have the Vesta (which is as sleek as they come) and the low slung Merian class.
Add to that the Seeker class designed by Hellkite which I also built with a sleek, organic philosophy, so in my head the answer would be yes. But my head is a very weird place to be so feel free to disagree...

In some ways, the overall design also has some cues of the Odyssey Class, not sure if that's a good thing...

The streamlining of the bottom huh? Maybe you can try these types of shapes there:

Thanks all.
Jetfreak, the problem isn't how to round off the right angle, it's how to do it whilst building in a shuttle bay. An inverted clamshell would be ideal, except I don't want the shuttles landing on the ceiling. I'll probably just end up with a canyon like the Titan.
Another picture which shows a little better where I'm going with the colour scheme. I was thinking of adding Vesta blue but I think it looks quite smart in just the two tone dark and light grey.

I have an idea about a shuttle bay underneath that would eliminate the right angle and not have an inverted clam shell door. I do not have a way to illustrate it right now, but once I can, I will post it here so you can see if you like it. Also, just because one uses inverted clam shell, does not mean one parks on the ceiling.

But if the clamshell is inverted it means the "runway" is at the narrowest side.
Anyway, possible fix (including a right way up clamshell, I just prefer that style of door).

EDIT - What do people thing to a landing pad on the spine. It's only the size of an Excelsior so no retraction into the ship, but as a diplomatic cruiser I can see ambassadors arriving in a runabout or similar and wanting to take the smaller craft with them for autonomy.

The back of the ship is broad and flat. What about something like the... launch elevators(?), I suppose, that DS9 uses to deploy runabouts?

Probably not enough decks to completely fit a runabout in. Semi recess maybe, but I was thinking just a landing pad with maglocks.

I wasn't thinking ones big enough to deploy runabouts, just shuttles.

So, here is a rough illustration on my idea.
illustration.jpg
The "inverted dome" could be elongated or even have a different shape altogether. The idea is that there would be a hanger door that slides apart to allow the shuttle in and out as oppose to a clam shell door. It would even work with the shape in your last post.

Could even have the doors open up and down split in half rather then side to side like the Constitution.

Updates for the Envoy class. Nacelles have been upscaled in poly count with some minor remapping required (yay  ). Some redesign of the saucer paneling so that there's a thicker grey band on the upper surface plus some more panels on the engineering hull. Added in the cargo bays (aft saucer), RCS thrusters, torpedo tubes and tractor emitter (and its not even Tuesday) and did a load of minor detailing to the textures. I've decided to stick with my current shuttlebay for now, but I'll keep in mind the "eyelid" for future consideration.
So, with the physical work more or less done, its time to finish of the hull detailing and then I can move on to the glows, bumps and registry. So probably 7 texture files for this one...

The current bay design seems okay for now and at a certain angle looks like the Starfleet Delta badge. Don't know if it its intentional though. I'm also 50/50 on the windows being there on the pylons.

If you need help with curved NCC registries, I can send a PSD template on your way. ;)

I sort of agree with the "pylon" windows, although technically it's the main through decks rather than a pylon. I may tone them down a little. Part of the problem is that the deck is just a single colour, not the multi bands like we usually see on a saucer edge (I've not figured out how to curve it to follow the contours).
As for the shuttlebay... Yes, of course, it was obviously my intention to make it look like a starfleet delta. Honest ;)

All help is always gratefully received. At the moment I just draw a couple of circles/elipses, scale them up/down to make them parallel, then rotate individual letters to fit between them.

First test of the warp core. Plus a test of the approach lights for the shuttlebay.

Progress is coming along beautifully. Really a suburb job KJC. Love the darker panelling you've added. :)

All right cool, the lights in the shuttle bay are very TOS inspired. You don't see much of that heritage in the newer ships.

I've attached my TNG registry template along with the fonts. It's pretty straightfoward, just drag the text layer into your needed texture file.

Well how about this for another teaser...

Added some more lights, redid a few panels and put in a few reflections. Now I'm in the process of planning where to put the registry.

Thanks Jetfreak for the file. I'll put it to good use ;)

Envoy beauty shot featuring a few new techniques for the space background and the sun creation. Constructive criticism welcome.

When do I get the Captaincy of her?

Love the little deflector on the saucer first time I've noticed it, obviously for saucer separation so the saucer can go into warp?

Thank you all. Here's another quick picture alongside the Dodwells.

You wouldn't want this li'l thing ;)

Nope, it's a chronoton quantum field focus controlling gizmo to ensure slipstream stability. This ship is most definitely not designed for saucer separation.
